Martha's Quilt

The quilt for my Martha and Mike's baby is finished. Actually, it was finished in June and I just getting around to posting. The baby is due in October. Her name is Rosa Lee.Very fun to quilt. I used the walking foot and did a different stitch for every white square. It came out great!

Cross body purse

I made this Cross body purse for my Disney trip. It has a top zipper and a bottom zip. But then I noticed that the straps are off. See how one is higher than the other? LOL!!! Next time I'll make sure they're even. I did not want to take it out as it was very thick sewing. I had to use the walking foot. I also quilted the fabric. So I was going through 6 layers, no 8 with the strap.
I found the tutorial on Youtube by Malini Chandra. She's a young girl and she did a great job demonstrating how to make it. It was exactly what I wanted. No one else had a good tutorial.

Crocheted Block Blanket

I started to experiment with a block blanket. I had a bunch of Blue Sky Worsted Cotton in assorted colors. I started to do a knitted blanket but it was taking me sooo long!! So this seems to be going faster and I decided it's easier to take with me to Disney for the plane and for the pool.
I chained 37 stitches. Next row: skip the first two and do a half double crochet (HDC). When you come to the end of the row, chain 2 and turn and repeat. I did this for about 11 inches. That left me some yarn so I could sew the blocks together.

Modern Log Cabin Quilt

I bought this book because I loved the quilt on the front. So I started it yesterday and I really am enjoying the pattern. Never made a log cabin before. Well, I did, a long long time ago! Maybe like 25 years ago when I took a class. Who remembers!!
Photos are not that clear as I used my iPhone. Was too lazy to grab my good camera. Next time!

Anyway, it starts out like this with white 2 1/2 inch center and contrast color 2 1/2 inch strips. And
1 1/2 inch white border strips.

And you chain stitch......

Don't forget to spray a little starch on it. I use Best Press. It has all different scents. I use the lavender scent. Love!

Make sure you even out the edges with a rotary cutter.

After you do four of them, you end up with this!

Five are done! Just making a baby quilt so maybe I have to do about 20? Not sure. See how it goes.

Another hat for Lulu

Pattern was from Purl Bee. Bulky yarn, cast on 44 stitches. Knit one, purl one for about 8 inches or longer for older baby or if you want to fold over the bottom.

Sewing Fleece

Miss Lulu taking her first selfie! She is obsessed with iPhones! She was grabbing my daughter's phone off the table, while sitting in her highchair, and accidentally took a selfie. 5 1/2 months old. Too funny!

Made these for Lulu. Wasn't sure if they would fit. So I mailed them to my daughter Ryann and she said they fit perfect. I'll have to make another pair. I got the pattern from Fleece Fun. She has great stuff.

Sewing day!

Today I learned how to make a zippered box pouch. It was really fun to do and I hope I can have more time next weekend to do a few more or at least sew some more zippered cases.  Been down with a cold for about 10 days now but felt better today to actually do some sewing and get something accomplished. I used Melanie's tutorial  from her website: "I heart stitching". She goes fast but you can pause it, which I did many times. Haha! Very simple though really.
