Another hat for Lulu

Pattern was from Purl Bee. Bulky yarn, cast on 44 stitches. Knit one, purl one for about 8 inches or longer for older baby or if you want to fold over the bottom.

Sewing Fleece

Miss Lulu taking her first selfie! She is obsessed with iPhones! She was grabbing my daughter's phone off the table, while sitting in her highchair, and accidentally took a selfie. 5 1/2 months old. Too funny!

Made these for Lulu. Wasn't sure if they would fit. So I mailed them to my daughter Ryann and she said they fit perfect. I'll have to make another pair. I got the pattern from Fleece Fun. She has great stuff.

Sewing day!

Today I learned how to make a zippered box pouch. It was really fun to do and I hope I can have more time next weekend to do a few more or at least sew some more zippered cases.  Been down with a cold for about 10 days now but felt better today to actually do some sewing and get something accomplished. I used Melanie's tutorial  from her website: "I heart stitching". She goes fast but you can pause it, which I did many times. Haha! Very simple though really.

Color makes everything look pretty

This was taken October 18. It's not full peak yet although some trees have changed and are now bare. It's mostly green still. Waiting for the peak in Central Park so I can take a trip there and take some pictures.

This photo was taken in front of my house

Finn's quilt all finished!

I believe the fabric is called Vroom Vehicles; Stripes Bright Aqua by Robert Kaufman. Not a great pic. Was in a hurry and downloaded the pic from my iPhone. Much quicker this way but I shouldn't be so lazy!

I'm Back!

Hi whoever reads my blog!! And I might be the only one that does. Doesn't matter though. My blog was started as somewhat of a journal to keep track of my life. Trying to get back in the groove after more than a year! Yes, that's how long since I have written in my blog.  Time has gotten away from me. It goes too fast and before you know it, it's a year later. In that year I have quilted many quilts, taken many photos, worked many hours, and I now have a granddaughter! My first! Lucille Virginia Hetherington! Lulu or Lucy. I keep going back and forth.

I will post many photos of all that as soon as I figure out how to revamp my blog.  After a year you sort of ah - forget things.
And so now that Picnik is no longer available on the web, I found it very difficult to try and change the header for my blog. I finally found to Ribbet. It's a site exactly like Picnik was and it is so easy now. Of course it took me a few hours of searching the web. But it was worth it. So then I realized that I can also post things from my iPhone, which is very handy.
Here is a pic of my new great nephew's quilt  that I have been working on here and there. I need to finish it today as he was born the other day. Welcome Finn Gordon Menkes! Born on Sept. 12, 2014.
I need a better photo of this. I took this from my iPhone and didn't edit it.

It will take me awhile but I will try to get going on this blog again!
